Q: What are the benefits of microdermabrasions and glycolic acids? Microdermabrasion is a procedure that uses the flow of aluminum oxide crystals to remove dead skin cells. The speed of crystal flow causes an abrasive action that gently removes the surface layers of the skin allowing smoother, fresher skin to emerge. Another method of exfoliation is Glycolic acid. Glycolic acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid naturally occurring in sugar cane. It penetrates the skin and loosens thickened surface cells as the uppermost layers are sloughed away, to reveal skin with a smoother healthier appearance.
